2008: Seeing Dogs

Brinda, a retired beagle guide dog, comes face to face with her replacement in Tilly, an exciteable blond labrador. Not willing to lose the bond between herself and her blind owner, Louise, nor to share her home with another dog, Brinda sets out to make Tilly fail the final test and be removed from their home.

This story takes many twists and turns, and the ending is unexpected. Suitable for confident readers.

When the astropod’s hatch clangs shut, ten-year-old Toran knows they’re in for a bumpy ride. Double Trouble Droob, the class clown, has unexpectedly joined him and Zenda on the Earth Jungle Jaunt. But Droob is not the only trouble brewing aboard the spacecraft about to leave the Earth Space Station.

This story is aimed at children aged 8-12 years. It focuses on bullying in schools and the importance of self-belief.

2006: ‘Sophie’s Rose’, first prize winner in the Fellowship of Australian Writers (Vic) 2006 National Literary Award. Published in The Envelope Please 2006 by Be Published

This story is suitable for older children and adults. It deals with disability and values and attitudes.
